JADED Magazine Contributor Guidelines

A Project by Pink Energy Productions – Applicable to All Volumes

Thank you for your interest in contributing to JADED, a biannual (now annual) alternative fashion and lifestyle publication dedicated to celebrating alternative fashion, creativity in all mediums, and community! These Guidelines are for accepted contributions to the next volume of JADED!

These are general contributor guidelines that apply to all volumes of JADED, produced by Pink Energy Productions and curated by Jadedisland

JADED Magazine Contributor Guidelines

    • Your work should celebrate and reflect the values of JADED: alternative fashion, cultural exploration, creative storytelling, and community expression.

    • We accept mature themes but do not publish kink-centered content or material featuring minors in fashion.

    • Content should be accessible for a young adult audience while maintaining authenticity.

    • All submissions are evaluated based on theme fit, originality, and editorial direction.

    • JADED requires a short exclusivity period until the first print run of the volume is complete.

    • After the exclusivity period, contributors may:

      • Share their work on social media

      • Add it to personal portfolios or websites

      • Submit it elsewhere with credit to JADED Magazine

    • Contributions may also be featured across:

      • JADED's social media platforms

      • The JADED Digital Subscriber Space

      • Panel discussions, educational features, and promotional materials (with full credit)

    • Contributors will receive a visual guide for formatting (e.g., print bleeds, safe zones, page dimensions)

    • Pink Energy Productions provides 1:1 support for resizing or formatting as needed

    • If your submission includes a brand or logo, please send:

      • A high-res vector logo (AI, EPS) or PNG at 300 dpi

      • Any desired links or QR codes, verified for accuracy and function

    • Upon acceptance, you’ll receive an invitation to submit your final files along with contributor agreements and deadlines.

ART & ILLUSTRATION SUBMISSIONS

File Format: PNG preferred; TIFF or PDF also accepted

  • Resolution: High-resolution, minimum 300 dpi

  • Color Mode: CMYK (for print quality)

  • Size: 2500 x 3000 pixels at 300 PPI

  • Themes: Art must reflect the current volume's theme (Past Themes as an example:. Myth, Magic, Mayhem, Chromatic, Lovecore, etc.). Original work is preferred.

  • Page Count & Format Options:

    • One Page (Single-Page Art)

    • Two Page (Full Spread Art)

    • PNG Transparent Silhouette (for use as graphic overlays in magazine layouts)

  • THEME ALIGNMENT:

    • All artwork must reflect the current volume’s theme
      (Examples of past themes: Lovecore, Chromatic, Myth, Magic, Mayhem, etc.)

    • Original work is preferred, but previously posted or published artwork may be accepted if it aligns with the volume theme and is submitted in print-ready format

  • Fanart:

    • Will be considered only if:

      • It clearly reflects alternative fashion

      • It is relevant to the theme of the volume

      • It does not infringe on licensing or copyrights

Note: You may submit previously posted or used artwork if it is thematically appropriate and in print-ready format. However, new/original content is encouraged.

COMICS SUBMISSIONS

File Format: PNG preferred; TIFF or PDF also accepted

  • Length: Max of 2–4 pages per comic submission

  • Style: Single-panel, strips, or short narratives

  • Focus: Comics must explore alternative fashion, personal stories, or identity, and tie into the volume’s core theme

  • Format: CMYK color mode, 300 dpi

  • Sizing: 2500 x 3000 pixels per page

  • Optional: Title & short summary (1–2 sentences) of your comic’s story or theme

WRITING SUBMISSIONS

File Format: Google Doc or Word Document

  • Length: 200–600 words (max), unless specified otherwise

    • If your essay is longer the full version will be released on the JADED Blog

  • Types Accepted: Essays, personal narratives, creative writing, tutorials, social commentary, interviews, prose, or short reflections

  • Editing Note: All submitted writing will be reviewed and lightly edited for clarity, structure, and tone.

PHOTOGRAPHY SUBMISSIONS

File Format: JPEG or PNG

  • Resolution: High-resolution, 300 dpi

  • Color Mode: CMYK

  • Required Info: Include photography credits, model names, location, and a short concept blurb

  • Focus: Submissions should represent alternative fashion within the current theme. Styled shoots and fashion editorials are highly encouraged.

Note: You may hire Pink Energy Productions for Shoots for the magazine and for your own personal and commercial use! The Main Photographer (Jadedisland) is based in Maryland/DMV!
